Dental Care for Children

Most visits to the dental office are scheduled, preventative dental check-ups. The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends children should be seen by the time of their first birthday; when older we recommend two preventative visits per year. At this time, your child’s teeth will be cleaned and polished and the teeth and mouth carefully examined. Fluoride treatments will be applied and hygiene instructions given, and x-rays of your child’s teeth will be taken as needed to diagnose tooth decay or abnormalities.

Preventative Dentistry

Among preventative services we provide are the application of sealants to protect your child’s teeth from decay. A sealant is a clear or shaded plastic material applied to the chewing surfaces of the back teeth which are particularly difficult to clean. The sealant forms a barrier that protects the tooth from bacteria and food particles. We also can fit your child with a mouth guard to prevent injury during sports.

Both Dr. Krieger and Dr. Gulati are fully equipped to handle most dental emergencies including those which require hospitalization. As well, the office performs interceptive or limited orthodontics, and can help you determine the scope and type of orthodontic treatment required.
